My wedding is one the first night of Hanukkah… any ideas on modern, contempory DIY menorahs to light at the reception?? Or how to introduce those who have never heard of or are unsure of what Hanukkah is????

I don't know of any "DIY" menorahs but I've recently seen a fantastic modern menorah that you could play off of. It's made by Modern Metal (see it at http://www.jewishmodernmetal.c…..norah.html), and it just basically consists of 9 individual candle holders (8 lower ones and 1 taller one). If you're looking for a DIY solution, you could create that idea with your own less expensive candle holders.
